Swar Vidhansabha by-election update- Apna Dal Shafiq Ahmed Ansari 50672 votes, SP candidate Anuradha Chauhan 45419 votes. In this way Apna Dal candidate Shafiq Ahmad Ansari was leading by 5253 votes.
While in the earlier round Apna Dal candidate Shafiq Ahmed Ansari got 37,923 votes. While SP candidate Anuradha Chauhan got 37,078 votes. After 12 rounds of counting, Shafiq Ahmed was leading by 845 votes.
Rampur is considered to be the stronghold of SP leader Azam Khan. Swar's seat fell vacant after Azam Khan's son Abdullah Azam lost his legislative seat. Voting was held on May 10 in Swar and Chanbe.
