According to the police, the name of the deceased is Bhanurekha, she is a resident of Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. Bhanurekha works in Infosys Company. On Sunday, she had come to visit Bangalore with her family. The family had hired a car to travel around Bangalore. Due to the rains, the KR circle underpass was waterlogged. The barricading installed there had also collapsed and was submerged in water. The driver of the car was negligent and started taking the vehicle out of the underpass. Meanwhile, the car got completely submerged in the water.
People also tried to save
An eyewitness present on the spot told that the vehicle was completely submerged in water. Somehow the family got out of the car. As soon as he came out of the car, he started shouting for help. Within no time, a crowd of people gathered to save him. Some people called the rescue team. Before help arrived, people tried to save him in their own way. Someone threw a rope and someone tried to save them by throwing a saree in the water. But the attempts failed. It was raining and hailing continuously.
The injured were taken to the hospital
Within a short while the rescue team also reached the spot. The swimmers of the team were the first to get the two members of the family out. At the same time, some people were taken out of the water through the stairs. An auto and a woman were also stuck in KR Circle, who were also pulled out by the rescue team. People present on the spot took the injured to St. Maratha Hospital, where doctors declared Bhanurekha brought dead. However, the family has alleged that when Bhanurekha was brought to the hospital, she was alive, but the doctors did not even see her, due to which the daughter succumbed to her injuries.
Let us inform, CM Siddaramaiah also reached as soon as the information about the incident was received. He has announced to give an assistance of five lakh rupees to the family of the deceased. Along with this, he has also announced free treatment for the dead.
Waterlogging happens every time
Due to flooding, several vehicles were also stuck in an underpass near Majestic in the city. He also had to face a lot of hardships. Due to heavy unseasonal rains in the city, houses were flooded. Many trees were also damaged. Posh areas like Malleshwaram and Rajaji Nagar were also waterlogged. Many areas including Sriramapuram, Kengeri, Mysore Road also remained waterlogged. The traffic system came to a standstill due to falling trees. People complained that this happens in every rain. There is always waterlogging, the government never does anything for it.
