Manipur: Situation normal in most areas of Manipur, curfew relaxed; Surrendered weapons at many places

According to the Manipur Police, after the efforts made by various security agencies, the situation is now returning to normal in the state.

The situation is now returning to normal in most areas of Manipur. In view of this, curfew is also being relaxed. According to information, curfew will be relaxed for 12 hours in Imphal West, Imphal East and Bishnupur. There will be relaxation in curfew from 5 am to 5 pm here.

Apart from this, eight hours at Jiribam (between 8 am and 4 pm), seven hours at Thoubal and Kaking (between 5 am and 12 noon), 10 hours at Churachandpur and Chandel (between 5 am and 3 pm) ), Tengnoupal for eight hours (from 6 am to 2 pm), Kangpokpi for 11 hours (from 6 am to 5 pm) and Ferjol for 12 hours (from 6 am to 6 pm). There will be relaxation. There is no curfew in Tamenglong, Noney, Senapati, Ukhrul and Kamjong.

Meanwhile, the Manipur Police said that following an appeal by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, 140 weapons have been handed over at different places in Manipur. These include SLR 29, Carbine, AK, INSAS Rifle, INSAS LMG, .303 Rifle, 9mm Pistol, .32 Pistol, M16 Rifle, Smoke Gun and Tear Gas, Locally Made Pistol, Stun Gun, Modified Rifle, JVP and Grenade Launcher.



According to the Manipur Police, after the efforts made by various security agencies, the situation is now returning to normal in the state. Now even isolated incidents of miscreants firing or setting fire to empty houses are not coming to the fore. A total of 37,450 people are in 272 relief camps, which include local, village and community halls.

The Security Adviser of Manipur said that the Union Home Minister appealed to the arms holders to surrender. After the departure of the Home Minister, 144 weapons and 11 magazines were surrendered in the state.
