Manipur: Search operation of security forces continues in Manipur, 35 arms and ammunition recovered

According to Army sources, NH 37 was controlled to ensure the supply of essential commodities from Manipur during the search operation.

For the second consecutive day in violence-hit Manipur, a joint search operation was carried out in the hill and valley areas on Thursday. The operations were conducted keeping in mind the voluntary surrender of illegal weapons before the areas were searched and the common citizens were not put to any kind of trouble. The presence of magistrates along with army contingents is being ensured during the search operations in non-AFSPA areas. 35 arms (all types), ammunition and munitions were recovered today. Drones are being monitored during the search operation.

According to Army sources, NH 37 was controlled to ensure the supply of essential commodities from Manipur during the search operation. During this, the army is continuously working on building trust with the local people. Security forces personnel are also engaged to return to normalcy as soon as possible. Army sources said adequate measures are being taken to ensure that the local people are not inconvenienced during the search operation.

Assam Rifles organized medical camp

Assam Rifles organized a medical camp for the people of Pukhao Terapur village in Saikul sub-division of Manipur. Local people of Pukhao Terapur village and people living in nearby relief camps also took advantage of the medical camp. During the medical camp, a team of doctors from Assam Rifles treated around 471 people including 238 women and 167 children.
