Meteorologists of the Himalayan nation have issued a warning that heavy rains may continue in the coming days.

The monsoon is causing heavy rains in eastern Nepal. Due to heavy rains, flood like situation has been created in many areas. Landslides were reported from many places. So far five people have died due to rain and landslides, while 28 others are said to be missing.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, heavy rains lashed several districts of Koshi province, especially Taplejung, Panchthar, Sankhuwasabha and Terhathum. At least five people have died after floods and landslides here. Roads, bridges and a hydroelectric project have also been damaged.

According to information, a person working in the under-construction Super Hewa Hydroelectric Project area in Chainpur Municipality-4 died. During this, 21 others went missing. Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Godar said that the laborers went to a safe place after the flood or were swept away in the Hewa river? We are probing it.

The rainy season will continue

A nine-year-old girl died after a house was washed away in a landslide in neighboring Panchthar district. Police said that five villagers of Chainpur have also gone missing after the flood in the area. Preliminary investigation suggests that the river got blocked after landslides in Chainpur Municipality-4 and Panchkhapan Municipality-9. Weather forecasters have warned of continued heavy rains in Nepal in the coming days. During this, an alert has also been issued to increase the water level of the rivers.
