Russia carried out airstrikes in northwestern Syria on Sunday, killing 13 people, including two children. Apart from this, 30 people are injured, whose treatment is going on in the hospital. Russia attacked the areas held by the rebel group, which were very big markets.

Worst attack of the year

Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said Sunday's attack was the deadliest of all in Syria this year. Last week, rebels attacked Russia with drones, to which Russia has now responded. However, Russia supports the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad.

A sudden outcry

Saad Fatoo (35), who was present on the spot during the attack, is a laborer by profession. He told that I was in the market. He was unloading tomatoes and cucumbers from the car when he was attacked. Suddenly there was an outcry in front of me. There was only screams and blood all around. I helped the injured people. It is strange to think about the incident, it was quite a scary scene. Russia has attacked us. At the same time, another person told that there was only a cloud of black smoke. The only sound was the sound of screams and ambulance sirens.

Attack in a crowded area

Abdel Rahman says that Russia attacked two different areas of northwestern Syria. The first attack was carried out in the city of Jisr al-Shughur, killing six civilians and three rebels. Whereas, the second attack took place on the outskirts of Idlib city. Three civilians, including two children, and one rebel died in Idlib. All the rebels were fighters of the Turkistan Islamic Party. About 30 people have been injured in the attack, whose treatment is going on. It is feared that the number of dead may increase.
