NHSRCL said in a release that out of these four bridges, we have managed to construct three bridges located between Bilimora and Surat stations on SSR route in Navsari district in a month.

Officials overseeing the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR), popularly known as the bullet train project, said work is progressing rapidly and cited the construction of three river bridges in Gujarat in a month. Officials of the National High Speed Rail Corridor, which is building the high speed corridor, said that out of 24 bridges, four have been built in the last six months.

20 bridges in the corridor will be constructed in Gujarat

National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) said in a release that out of these four bridges, we have managed to construct three bridges located between Bilimora and Surat stations on SSR route in Navsari district in a month. There are 24 bridges in the corridor, of which 20 are in Gujarat and the rest are in Maharashtra.

Construction work of three river bridges completed in a month

NHSRCL, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Indian Railways, said, "The construction of the first bridge has been completed on the Purna river, the second on the Mindhola rover and the third on the Ambika river." The MAHSR corridor has made significant progress as three river bridges have been completed in the last one month.

These two longest bridges are under construction in Gujarat and Maharashtra

NHSRCL said that the longest river bridge in Gujarat is 1.2 km long and is being constructed on river Narmada, while the longest bridge in Maharashtra is 2.28 km long on river Vaitarna. NHSRCL Managing Director Rajendra Prasad said that construction of bridges over rivers requires careful planning. The tides of the Arabian Sea were closely monitored during the construction of bridges on the Mindhola and Purna rivers. Our engineers worked at a height of 26 meters to construct the bridge over the Ambika River.

It was challenging to supervise the construction work on this bridge

Rajendra Prasad said that the construction of bridges over rivers requires careful planning. The NHSRCL said the bridge over the Poorna river is 360 meters long and required constant monitoring of high and low tide of the Arabian Sea during its construction, NHSRCL said the foundation work was challenging as the water level in the river during high tide was five feet. Was growing six meters from.

High and low tide from the Arabian Sea presented a challenge

He informed that continuous monitoring of high and low tides from the Arabian Sea was done for the 240 meter long bridge over the Mindhola river. The steep slope of the river bank posed a challenge for the 200-metre-long third bridge over the Ambika River.

Construction work in different stages at these eight stations

In Gujarat, work on eight HSR stations namely Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad and Sabarmati are at various stages of construction. NHSRCL said that the first phase of the bullet train project is expected to start in 2026.
