Britain: Lover convicted in murder of Indian-origin student, brutally murdered by slitting throat

A UK court has convicted her Tunisian-origin boyfriend in the murder of Indian-origin student Sabita Thanwani. The court will pronounce the sentence in September. Let us tell you that Maher Marouf (23 years) had killed his girlfriend Sabita Thanwani by slitting her throat in Clerkenwell area of North London last year. Maher Marouf was convicted of murder during a hearing at London's Bailey Court on Friday.

Sabita's body was recovered from her residential complex room provided by the university. Sabita was brutally murdered by slitting her throat. The people of the neighborhood informed the police after hearing the commotion. Police investigation revealed that there was a love affair between Sabita and Maher. The police also saw the killer but he managed to escape from the spot. Later, the police caught Maher by conducting an intensive search operation.

Maher is also accused of assaulting an emergency worker when he was arrested. Maher is currently being held in high security at the Broadmoor psychiatric hospital. He was produced in the court through video conferencing. The accused has also accepted his crime. The hearing was conducted with the help of an expert in Arabic language. Now in September the court will sentence the guilty.
