Tomato Price: Cheap tomatoes will be available in Delhi-NCR from tomorrow, plan to sell Rs 90 per kg in UP and Rajasthan

According to the official, apart from Delhi-NCR, the cooperative will also start selling tomatoes in other cities like Lucknow, Kanpur and Jaipur on weekends.

Tomato prices are skyrocketing in Delhi-NCR. The situation is that those who once used to buy one kilo each, are now forced to buy 250 grams. Meanwhile, the National Consumer Cooperative Federation (NCCF) has announced relief news for the people. NCCF has announced on Thursday that it will make available tomatoes at Rs 90 per kg from Friday.

An NCCF official said that tomatoes will be sold at a subsidized rate of Rs 90 per kg through mobile vans in Delhi and NCR region. Giving information about the places where tomatoes are sold, he said that tomatoes will be sold at the NCCF office at Rajnigandha Chowk in Noida. Apart from this, tomatoes will be sold through mobile vans in Greater Noida and other places.

According to the official, apart from Delhi-NCR, the cooperative will also start selling tomatoes in other cities like Lucknow, Kanpur and Jaipur on weekends. At present, the price of tomato has reached from Rs 140 to Rs 200 per kg in different parts of the country. To give relief to the people, the central government has ordered cooperative societies, NCCF and Nafed to sell tomatoes.
