Mission 2024: Shah will inaugurate Mera Desh, Mere Log padyatra in Tamil Nadu today, will run for six months

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch BJP's 'Mera Desh, Mere Log' padyatra in Rameshwaram this evening and the yatra will leave the next day.

The Tamil Nadu BJP has completed preparations for its six-month-long padyatra 'Mera Desh, Mere Log' in the state ahead of the 2024 general elections. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch it in Rameswaram on the evening of July 28 and the yatra will leave the next day. During the yatra, the BJP will appeal to the public for a decisive mandate to ensure Narendra Modi's third term as Prime Minister.

BJP state president K Annamalai on Thursday gave a detailed description of the padyatra covering 234 assembly constituencies of the state. The campaign will run in five phases to cover all 39 parliamentary constituencies, Annamalai told reporters. It is planned to conclude on January 11, 2024, before the Lok Sabha elections. Annamalai said, we will present the achievements of the Prime Minister in front of the public and seek support for the third term. According to the state BJP president, one lakh copies of a booklet titled What Did Modi Do will also be distributed to enumerate Modi's works.

There will be 10 rallies, Union ministers will participate

State BJP President said that this campaign will formally start from Rameshwaram on July 29 after the inauguration of the Home Minister. Annamalai will lead the yatra covering over 1,770 km on foot and covering the remaining distance by vehicle in rural areas. He said 10 major rallies are planned during the yatra, which will be addressed by at least one Union minister.
