An RPF constable fired indiscriminately at his senior ASI on board the Jaipur-Mumbai Express train in Palghar, Maharashtra. In this incident ASI and 3 other passengers died due to bullet injuries. A constable named Chetan fired. Who has been arrested by the police from Mira Road. All the four bodies have been kept in the mortuary of Shatabdi Hospital.

There was a tussle between constable and ASI

The incident happened around 5 am on Monday morning. This firing took place in the B 5 coach of the train. In the firing, 4 people died due to bullet injuries. Although the reason for the firing is yet to be ascertained, but it is being told that there was a tussle and argument between the RPF constable and his senior ASI over some issue. After which the constable fired furiously in anger. The firing took place on a train between Palghar and Mumbai in the Dahisar area. RPF constable Chetan is said to be under mental stress.


Railway officials engaged in investigation

In Mumbai, DRM Neeraj Verma told that around 6 in the morning, we got information that the RPF jawan had opened fire, in which four people were killed. The accused constable was posted on escort duty. Railway officials are present at the spot and further investigation into the incident is underway. The relatives of the deceased have been informed. Compensation will be announced to the relatives of the deceased.

The reason for the firing is not clear

The CPRO of Western Railway said that 'an unfortunate incident took place in Mumbai-Jaipur Superfast Express today. An RPF constable Chetan Kumar fired at his colleague ASI Tikaram Meena. During this, three other passengers were also shot. Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had fired from his official weapon. Accused has been arrested. The reason for the firing is not yet known. The case is being investigated.'
