West Bengal: JP Nadda and BL Santosh tour Bengal, will attend BJP's Eastern India Panchayat workshop today

In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has started focusing on the Northeast including West Bengal.

BJP National President JP Nadda reached Kolkata late on Friday night on a two-day tour of West Bengal. He was accompanied by BJP National Organization General Secretary BL Santosh. West Bengal BJP State President Sukanta Majumdar and other office bearers received him at Kolkata airport.

In fact, in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has started focusing on the Northeast including West Bengal. In this episode, BJP's Eastern India Panchayat workshop is going to be held in Kolaghat, East Medinipur, Bengal. Late night BJP President JP Nadda reached Kolkata to participate in it. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also address this two-day workshop through virtual medium.

According to BJP sources, Zila Parishad members from Bengal as well as the rest of the eastern region of the party will also be present. BJP's eastern region includes Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar apart from Bengal. Apart from this, there are all the north-eastern states including Assam, Tripura. In the recently concluded panchayat elections, the BJP has won 31 Zilla Parishads in Bengal. A total of 134 members of the state's Zilla Parishad and various autonomous administrative bodies, including those 31, have reportedly received invitations for Nadda's meeting. During this tour, Nadda will also hold a meeting with top state BJP leaders.

Union's eastern zone executive meeting begins

The two-day eastern zone executive meeting of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has started in Kolkata from Friday. Leaders from Bengal, Assam and Bihar participated in the meeting along with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Sangh's Sar Karyavah Dattatreya Hosbol. According to sources, the review of the welfare schemes of the RSS in the eastern states and the introduction of new schemes were discussed in the meeting.
