The unveiling of the Mooring Place project with a cost of 257 crores shows the unwavering commitment of the Government to enhance the capabilities of the Border Security Forces.

The security of this important strategic point, 'Harami Nala', which runs along the Pakistan border in Gujarat, will now be impregnable. Pakistan's illegal infiltration can be monitored for 24 hours through the 'OP Tower' built here. On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has performed Bhoomi Pujan and foundation stone of Mooring Place on the Koteshwar coast of Bhuj. This is an important step towards strengthening the security of the border area. Along with this, he has also inaugurated the newly constructed Chidiyamod-Biyarbet link road and an OP tower at border pillar number 1164 in Harami Nala area.

The unveiling of the Mooring Place project with a cost of 257 crores shows the unwavering commitment of the Government to enhance the capabilities of the Border Security Forces. Under this, a 60-acre mooring place will be constructed on the Koteshwar coast, which will act as an important infrastructure for the Border Security Force ships in the creek area. This state-of-the-art mooring place will facilitate the Border Security Force to conduct maritime security operations in the creek area. There will be a significant improvement in the availability of resources for border guards deployed in this area.

OP Tower was also inaugurated

Union Home Minister has also inaugurated Chidiyamod-Biyarbet Link Road and an OP Tower near Border Pillar 1164 in Harami Nala area. The construction of the link road is proving to be a milestone in improving access and connectivity to the border areas. This newly constructed road of 28.2 km length has been constructed by the Central Public Works Department at a cost of 106.2 crores, which is facilitating smooth movement of border guards and resources. This has led to an increase in border management and security operations in the region. OP Tower constructed at a cost of Rs 3 crore at Border Pillar 1164 at Harami Nala is strengthening the security by ensuring round the clock presence of Border Security Force. With the construction of this tower, this area has become impregnable.

Speaking on the occasion, Shah stressed on the dedication of the government in ensuring the security of our country's borders. The mooring place at Koteshwar will help in maintenance of floating BOPs and water vessels of the Border Security Force. Round the clock monitoring and operation at Durgam Creek will ensure their availability. Road connectivity is helping in faster movement of Border Security Force in border areas to meet operational and administrative requirements. The construction of OP tower in Harami Nala will curb illegal infiltration attempts by Pakistani fishermen. The Home Minister appreciated the tireless efforts, unwavering commitment and efficiency of the Border Security Force in securing the borders of the country. A memento was presented to the Union Home Minister by Nitin Agarwal, Director General Border Security Force.

According to BSF, Border Security Force Gujarat has done commendable work by being active in the last three years. Meanwhile, Border Security Force Gujarat killed 02 Pakistani intruders at International Border in Barmer, while arrested 09 Pak, 04 Bangladeshi and 05 other citizens in the border area. During this period, 25 Pakistani fishermen were apprehended in the creek and Harami Nala area and 81 Pakistani fishing boats were also seized. During this period, drugs worth about Rs 600 crore were seized, which included 119 kg of heroin, 130 kg of charas, 03 kg of amphetamine and 160 kg of poppy seeds.
