Manipur: Miscreants torch three houses, snatch weapons from security personnel; Police raided for recovery

Soon after the arson incident, people gathered in the area demanding the state and central forces deployed there to allow them to enter the area. On this, the security forces fired a few rounds of tear gas shells to disperse the crowd. In another development, unidentified persons snatched three weapons from the security personnel guarding the residence of former Director Health and Family Welfare K Rajo at around 2 am on Sunday, police said.
The incident took place at Sagolband Bijoy Govinda under Imphal PS in Imphal West district, police said. The weapons taken away include two AK-47 rifles and a carbine. Meanwhile, the police have launched operations to recover the weapons and nab those involved.
