Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that last year we had emphasized on the issue of Tuberculosis (TB) on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
SponsoredPrime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday is going to be very special for the common people this year. Actually, the Center is going to start the Ayushman Bhava program on 17th September i.e. on the birthday of PM Modi. This information was given by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
60 thousand people will get cards
Mandaviya said that the Health Ministry is going to launch a program called Ayushman Bhava to reach all the government health schemes to every intended beneficiary, including those at the last mile. During this program, camps will be organized and 60,000 people will be given Ayushman Bharat cards.
Let us tell you, Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) is the world's largest health protection scheme, which provides health coverage of Rs 5 lakh per beneficiary family per year.
Emphasis on TB
He said that in the coming days we will run this program more for better saturation of health services. Last year, we had emphasized on the issue of Tuberculosis (TB) on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
To be finished by 2025
He said that earlier PM Modi had said that the world's target to eliminate Tuberculosis (TB) is 2030, but India's target is to eliminate TB by the end of 2025. Last year around 70,000 people became Ni-Ksayya Mitra and adopted TB patients which has now increased to one lakh. Those who have adopted it include NGOs, individuals, political parties and the corporate sector.
Mandaviya said that nutrient kits are being given every month and all possible assistance is being given to those patients. He said that we are confident that with the help of 'people's participation' TB will be eliminated from the country.
Earlier in 2022, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had launched a one-year program to make the country Tuberculosis (TB) free, under which everyone will adopt a TB patient and take care of him for a year.
It is noteworthy that PM Modi was born on 17 September 1950 in Vadnagar, Gujarat, which is a small town in Mehsana district of North Gujarat.
