The war office of the then British Prime Minister Winston Churchill during the Second World War has now been converted into a luxury hotel. Let us tell you that eight years ago the Hinduja Group of Indian origin had purchased this historical building and has now converted it into a luxury hotel. Let us tell you that Winston Churchill's Old War Office is located in the Whitehall Building in front of the PM's residence in London. The building was purchased by the Indian-origin Hinduja Group eight years ago.

Luxury hotel will open on 29th September

Hinduja Group in collaboration with Rafails Hotels has transformed this historic building into a luxury residential building, restaurant and spa. The Hinduja Group has developed this hotel in collaboration with French multinational hospitality group Accor and it will be opened to the public from September 29, later this month.

This building is historical

The Old War Office building was completed in 1906. It was designed by British architect William Young. The building housed the offices of many influential leaders in history, including names like Winston Churchill and David Lloyd George. This building has also been shown in several films of the James Bond series and was also shown in the recent Netflix series The Crown.

The new hotel has 120 rooms and suites for guests. It has a grand ballroom and celebrity chef Mauro Colagreco will prepare meals for guests. In this hotel, a heritage suite has been built at the place where great leaders had their offices. 85 residential houses, nine restaurants and three bars have also been built in the historic building.

Winston Churchill is seen as a hero in Britain. Whereas in India he is considered a villain. In India, Winston Churchill is considered responsible for millions of deaths due to hunger in the year 1943. In fact, Churchill had removed the food grains from Bengal and sent it to his soldiers fighting the World War, due to which lakhs of people died due to lack of food grains. This is the reason why the purchase of the same Churchill's old office by a family of Indian origin and the construction of a luxury hotel in it is special in itself.
