Cleanliness Drive: The first phase of Swachhta Abhiyan 3.0 will start from today; Union Minister said this is the goal

The first phase of the third Swachhta Abhiyan will begin across the country from today.

In this phase, all the ministries and departments will identify the pending cases and places for cleanliness. We will also assess the quantity of unnecessary materials to be disposed of. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said that guidelines and progress report will be issued for Special Campaign 3.0 and Special Campaign June-July 2023. The monthly report on secretariat reforms for December 2022-July 2023 will also be released in the same meeting.
At the same time, the second phase of the campaign will start from Gandhi Jayanti i.e. 2nd October, which will continue till 31st October. This will be the implementation phase. In this, all the ministries and departments will make efforts to achieve the targets selected in the initial phase. DARPG will also prepare a weekly consolidated report in this regard. Which will be handed over to the Cabinet Secretariat and PMO. The campaign aims to focus on measures to generate wealth through waste disposal, among other things.
Earlier, Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh launched the web portal of Vishesh Swachhta Abhiyan 3.0 on Thursday in New Delhi. On this occasion, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has turned the cleanliness campaign into a mass movement and people have assimilated it as a social reform movement. The government will take up the fundamental issues faced by the common man in mission mode. He said that the special campaign is being launched at a time when the G-20 summit under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was an unprecedented success. Apart from this, the country is excited after India's space achievements of Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya L-1.
DARPG will be the nodal department for the campaign
The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) will be the nodal department for coordination and operation of this campaign across the country. The department will also oversee the implementation of this special campaign 3.0. Special Campaign 3.0 will focus on offices responsible for service delivery or public interface.
