Shubman's health is bad, he is recovering from illness
In recent times,
India's most brilliant batsman in ODIs, Shubman, is reportedly suffering from high fever. Testing was to be done for dengue, but no official information has been given by BCCI in this regard. BCCI has said that Shubman has high fever. At the same time, BCCI sources had told that Shubman is suffering from dengue. It usually takes 7-10 days for a player to recover from dengue and become match-fit again. However, if there is a significant drop in platelet count, the patient may take longer to recover.
After Afghanistan, India has to play a match against Pakistan
Some media reports have even said that apart from the match against Afghanistan, Shubman may also remain out of
India's third match against
Pakistan to be held in
Ahmedabad on October 14. Shubman has scored 1200 runs this year and has recently formed a successful opening pair with captain
Rohit Sharma. If he remains absent for a long time then it can be a big blow for the
Indian team.
Ishan Kishan can open again
The team management would not want to take any risk regarding Shubman Gill. In the next match against Afghanistan, left-handed wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan can once again be seen opening with
Rohit Sharma in his place. Ishan Kishan had also opened in the match against Australia, but could not open the account. He has played 26 matches so far. During this period his average has been around 44. Ishaan has 886 runs in his name. He has scored one century and seven half-centuries. Kishan has scored three half-centuries this year.
