Amidst speculations about cabinet expansion in the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Governor Anandi Ben Patel on Tuesday evening. After the CM's meeting with the Governor on November 10, the discussion about cabinet expansion has again intensified. On the other hand, the discussion has gained further strength with the arrival of SubhaSP President Omprakash Rajbhar and former minister Dara Singh Chauhan in Lucknow late on Tuesday night.
According to sources, in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President Amit Shah last week, an in-principle agreement was reached for cabinet expansion. The central leadership has left the decision to the Chief Minister to include SubhaSP President Omprakash Rajbhar, former minister Dara Singh Chauhan and one or two other faces in the cabinet.
After the CM's meeting with the Governor, there is discussion that after the cabinet in Ayodhya on November 9, cabinet expansion may take place on November 10. In this, apart from Omprakash Rajbhar, Dara Singh, one or two new faces may get a place to solve the caste equation in the Lok Sabha elections.
Rajbhar is creating pressure in Delhi
According to BJP sources, SubhaSP President Omprakash Rajbhar has put pressure on the BJP leadership in Delhi to join the cabinet. In July, Rajbhar had announced joining NDA. Since then he has spoken in Delhi Darbar several times to get a place in the cabinet. Dara Singh has also met BJP State President Bhupendra Chaudhary and Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak several times.
There was a problem in the name of Dara Singh
According to sources, some leaders of RSS and BJP are not in favor of making Dara Singh a minister after the defeat in Ghosi by-election. The matter has been stuck for so many days due to lack of consensus on the name of Dara Singh. But Omprakash Rajbhar is under pressure to make Dara Singh a minister along with himself. Dara Singh can be included to woo Nonia Chauhan voters of Purvanchal.
Departments of some ministers may change
According to government sources, after the cabinet expansion, the departments of some ministers of the state government may also change. CM can make changes in the departments of ministers based on their performance in one and a half year.
Second extension will happen after Lok Sabha elections
According to BJP sources, some ministers of the state government will also contest the Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, the ministers who win the Lok Sabha elections will have to resign from the cabinet. The second cabinet expansion will take place after July 2024 to fill the seats vacant due to his resignation.
