Babar Azam has resigned from the captaincy of Pakistan.

Babar Azam has resigned from the captaincy of Pakistan. He resigned through a note on Wednesday. In this he wrote that this is the right time to take this decision. Babar has expressed gratitude to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for giving him the opportunity.

What did Babar write in his note?

Babar wrote in his note- I remember well the moment when I got a call from PCB to lead Pakistan in 2019. In the last four years, I have experienced many ups and downs on and off the field, but I have aimed wholeheartedly and with full dedication at maintaining the pride and honor of Pakistan. Taking Pakistan to the number one Test position in the cricket world was the result of the collective efforts of the players, coaches and management, but I would like to express my gratitude to the Pakistan cricket fans for their unwavering support during this journey.

Babar wrote- Today, I am stepping down as the captain of Pakistan in all formats. It is a difficult decision, but I think this is the right time for this decision. I will continue to represent Pakistan as a player in all three formats. I am here to support the new captain and the team with my experience and dedication. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the Pakistan Cricket Board for entrusting me with this important responsibility.

The ruckus has been going on since the World Cup

There was talk of Babar leaving the captaincy since his poor performance in the World Cup. Even talks were not happening between PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf and Babar Azam. After this, chief selector Inzamam Ul Haq resigned in the middle of the tournament. After this, bowling coach Morne Morkel also resigned. Then the PCB dismissed the entire selection committee. Now there is talk of sacking the coaching panel led by Mickey Arthur.
