The new resolution demands adherence to international humanitarian law for humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip. Apart from this, special protection has been demanded for children. However, nowhere in this proposal put forward by Malta has Israel been appealed to stop the attacks. Whereas, China and Russia want immediate ceasefire.

ASEAN's appeal, war should be stopped

Defense ministers of ASEAN, an organization of South-East Asian countries, in a ministerial meeting on Wednesday appealed to Israel to immediately stop attacks on Gaza. ASEAN defense ministers also called for the creation of a safe corridor for humanitarian aid.

Israel takes control of Gaza's largest hospital

Here, the Israeli army on Wednesday gained control over Gaza's largest Al-Shifa hospital. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said that a large quantity of weapons were found in the basement of the hospital. Earlier, there were encounters with Hamas fighters at several places in the hospital. According to the Israeli Army, terrorists may still be present in many places in the hospital. For this reason, every corner is being searched. Along with this, terrorists are being asked to surrender through loud speakers. According to the Israeli Army, the headquarters of Hamas is located under this hospital.

At the same time, the World Health Organization says that since the Israeli army has gained control over the hospital, the doctors present there are not able to be contacted. On the other hand, the United Nations claims that around 2,300 people, including patients and staff, are present inside the hospital. Martin Griffiths, the UN relief chief in Gaza, said hospitals are not battlefields. The safety of newborns, patients, medical staff and all citizens in hospitals must be placed above all other concerns. In this regard, IDF spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner said that strong evidence was found that Hamas is using the hospital complex as its headquarters.

Israel's grip on Gaza becomes stronger

The Israeli army has captured the police headquarters on Wednesday, further strengthening its hold on northern Gaza. Apart from this, the densely populated district Shati refugee camp has been captured. Israeli soldiers now seem fearless in northern Gaza. The IDF reported that large quantities of weapons were found in government buildings, schools and residential buildings.
