UP ATS arrested Wasiullah, who funded ISI spies, said he was involved due to greed for money

ADG ATS Mohit Aggarwal said that on September 25, Shailesh alias Shailendra Singh Chauhan, resident of Kasganj, was arrested on charges of spying on Indian military bases in North East states for Pakistani intelligence agency ISI.
UP ATS on Monday arrested Wasiullah, an associate of ISI detective Shailesh Kumar alias Shailendra Singh Chauhan. Wasiullah, who lived near Meena Bakery in Rajajipuram area of the capital, was a member of an online cyber crime group, where he came in contact with ISI agents and cyber hackers. Later, on the instructions of ISI, he started using his bank account to give money to Shailesh and other spies. ATS will take him on custodial remand and interrogate him.
ADG ATS Mohit Aggarwal said that on September 25, Shailesh alias Shailendra Singh Chauhan, resident of Kasganj, was arrested on charges of spying on Indian military bases in North East states for Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. Investigation of this case revealed that Wasiullah, living in Rajajipuram, Lucknow, is also in contact with ISI agents. On the instructions of the ISI agent, he had misused his account and sent thousands of rupees to Shailesh and other agents for spying. During this time, to maintain his privacy, he also used to deal through crypto currency.
After this was confirmed, he was called to ATS headquarters and interrogated strictly and he confessed to his crime. He told that for the greed of earning he had joined the ISI conspiracy. At the behest of the ISI agent, he misused his bank account and sent money to Shailesh and other agents in exchange for spying. Thereafter ATS arrested him under UAPA Act. Two mobile phones recovered from him will be sent for forensic investigation so that information can be gathered about this network. It will also be found out from which bank accounts the money was being sent to Wasiullah's account.
