Women will be empowered by Lakhpati Didi scheme, Murmu said - for development the role of half population is important

President Draupadi Murmu said on Saturday that to make India a developed nation, it is important for every woman to be empowered. It depends on the strength, self-reliance and empowerment of every woman. The President was addressing the 'Lakhpati Didi' conference in Jaisalmer. He said, the Central Government has an ambitious target of creating more than 11 lakh Lakhpati Didis in Rajasthan. She also emphasized the role of self-help groups in the upliftment of marginalized women.

He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the 'Lakhpati Didi' scheme in his Independence Day speech. This includes skill development training to encourage two crore women to start small enterprises. Murmu said, no country can move forward by ignoring 50 percent of its population. The people of the country should pledge that India will celebrate its centenary of independence as a developed nation.

Appreciated the commitment of soldiers in protecting the country

During his visit to Jaisalmer, President Murmu witnessed an integrated firing exercise conducted by the Indian Army at the Pokhran Firing Range. He talked to the soldiers. Appreciated for his commitment and preparedness in the defense of the country. During this time, a program was also organized by the State Rural Development Department at Shaheed Poonam Singh Stadium in Jaisalmer, in which Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also participated.
