95 people died and more than 200 were injured in two bomb blasts in Iran on Wednesday. Till now no organization has taken responsibility for this attack. The reason for the attack is also not clear. An event organized to pay tribute to an Iranian army general killed in the US attack was targeted. The reason for the attack is not clear yet and Iranian investigative agencies are busy investigating it.
The attack took place in the Iranian city of Kerman, where bags filled with explosives exploded.
After the attack, it was said that 103 people had died in the bombings, but the death toll was later reduced and it was said that the names of some of the dead had been counted twice. 210 people have been injured in these blasts. Many of the injured are in critical condition.
Wednesday was the fourth death anniversary of Iranian commander Qasim Sulemani, who was killed in a US drone attack. On this occasion, a large number of people had gathered at the grave of Qasim Sulemani to pay tribute to him. During this time the first bomb exploded.
The second bomb blast occurred 20 minutes after the first blast. Due to this, a large number of people died. In fact, after the first blast, there were people associated with emergency services on the spot, when the second attack happened, along with common citizens, people associated with emergency services also got hit by it.
This is the biggest attack in Iran since the Islamic Revolution in 1979. Till now no organization has taken responsibility for this attack. Sunni fundamentalist terrorist organization Islamic State has also carried out several attacks in Shia-dominated Iran, but this is the first attack on such a large scale.
This attack in Iran has taken place at a time when Iran-backed organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah are fighting a war with Israel. At the same time, Iran-backed Houthi rebels are also targeting commercial ships passing through international shipping routes in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea areas. In such a situation, there is a situation of apprehension and confusion after the attack in Iran.
The needle of suspicion of attack in Iran is turning towards Israel but security experts are denying Israel's involvement in such a large-scale attack. Israel has carried out several attacks in Iran, but those attacks have been on Iranian scientists, officials and places related to the nuclear program. There is little involvement of Israel in this attack targeting the general public.
