Famous poet Munavwar Rana has passed away. He died of a heart attack late on Sunday night. Rana was admitted in PGI, Lucknow for the last several days. There is a wave of mourning in Rae Bareli due to the news of death.

Shayar is survived by his wife, four daughters and a son. Rana's son Tabrez told that due to illness he was hospitalized for 14 to 15 days. He was first admitted to Medanta in Lucknow and then to SGPGI, where he breathed his last at around 11 pm on Sunday night.
He was undergoing treatment in PGI. He had problems related to kidney and heart disease. His daughter Sumaiya Rana said that he breathed his last around 11.30 pm. Had a heart attack. The funeral will take place today in Rae Bareli.
Rana was on dialysis for the last two years due to kidney failure. He was also suffering from serious lung disease. On January 9, when his condition worsened, he was admitted to PGI. Earlier he was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow.
But he died late on Sunday night during treatment in Lucknow. As soon as this news was known, a gathering of people gathered at his ancestral home Qila Bazar. Although the family members are not there. A wave of mourning ran across the entire district due to his demise.
Haider, close to the Rana family, says that Munawwar Rana spent most of his life in Kolkata. Was living with his family in Lucknow for almost two decades. He used to come to Rae Bareli sometimes, but due to illness he did not come for two years. Munawwar's children have definitely been coming to their ancestral home, Qila Bazaar.
