Madhubani District Education Officer Cracks Down on Primary Teacher Fraud

Stay informed about the crackdown on primary teacher fraud in Madhubani district, as District Education Officer Javed Alam takes decisive action against malpractice.

Javed Alam, the District Education Officer (DEO) of Madhubani, is taking a firm stance against instances of fraud involving primary teachers in the district. In a statement to Local 18, Alam emphasized the necessity of swift and decisive action against those responsible for malpractice. Despite prioritizing the resolution of the matter, Alam affirmed that monitoring directives were being diligently followed.

Alam highlighted the urgency of addressing the issue by affirming that immediate action would be taken against officials failing to provide necessary documentation for the verification of primary teachers. He clarified that the planning unit holds the authority to initiate appropriate actions in such cases. The DEO's establishment has issued directives to ensure that fraudulent teachers identified during document verification face consequences, including termination from service and the repayment of any illicit gains.

The situation stems from the non-receipt of employment-related folders for 3,509 primary teachers, as mandated by a Patna High Court order (CWJC No. 15459/14). This failure has impeded the verification of crucial documents such as mark sheets and certificates, raising doubts about the authenticity of these teachers' credentials. The inability to verify these documents not only casts doubt on the legitimacy of the teachers but also tarnishes the reputation of the District Planning Office (DPO) establishment, posing a significant challenge to the district's education system.

DEO Alam assured that corrective measures are underway, with efforts to expedite the submission of folders to the department. Despite the workload stemming from simultaneous responsibilities as both DPO Establishment and DEO, Alam affirmed the commitment to taking swift action against negligent personnel. The district education office is actively working to rectify the situation and uphold the integrity of the education system in Madhubani.
