Severe heatwave conditions are affecting Jharkhand and other parts of India with temperatures soaring above 40°C in many districts.

The entire country, including Jharkhand, is experiencing an intense heatwave. It feels as if fireballs are raining from the sky, with similar conditions being observed across Jharkhand, including Ranchi. On Wednesday, temperatures in 23 out of 24 districts of Jharkhand exceeded 40°C. Previously, temperatures in 17 districts were above 40°C. The highest temperature was recorded in Garhwa district at 48.0°C, followed by Palamu district at 47.7°C.

Weather Alert Issued

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for severe heat. The Meteorological Center has predicted that similar heat conditions will persist on May 30 and 31. Severe heat is expected in many districts, particularly in the Palamu division, with a potential for heatwaves during this period.

Heatwave Expected on May 30 and 31

According to the Meteorological Center in Ranchi, on May 30, severe heat will affect the western, southern, and adjacent central parts of the state. Heatwaves are expected in these areas, with hot nights in the western and central parts of Jharkhand. On May 31, a heatwave may hit the northwestern region of the state. Weather changes are anticipated in the Santhal and Kolhan areas, where rain, thunder, lightning, and strong winds are expected. Wind speeds could reach 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. On June 1 and 2, wind speeds in these areas might be higher than normal, with forecasts of thunder and lightning.

Severe Heat During Nautapa

Nautapa, a period of intense heat, begins every year in May or June. This year, Nautapa started on May 25, and its effects are being felt in many parts of the country, with temperatures exceeding 45°C in several areas. According to astrology, when the Sun enters the Rohini constellation, it lasts for 15 days, but Nautapa is particularly intense for the first nine days, directly impacting Earth and leading to good rainfall.
