In a tragic incident in the Ranchi Railway Division, an overhead wire broke and fell on a train, resulting in the death of one person and injuring two others. The accident has halted the train between Jharkhand and West Bengal.

Accident Details: Muri-Chandil Railway Section

The accident occurred in Lengdih village near Suisa railway station on the Muri-Chandil railway section of the Ranchi division, part of the South Eastern Railway. The injured passengers were immediately taken to Baghmundi Sadar Hospital in West Bengal, where they are currently receiving treatment.

Overhead Wire Falls on Nilanchal Express

The overhead wire broke and fell on the Nilanchal Express (also known as Nandankanan Express) which operates between Odisha and Anand Vihar Terminal. Initial reports suggested that around 40 passengers suffered burns due to the incident, but the railway authorities have refuted these claims. The Public Relations Officer of Ranchi Railway Division clarified that two passengers sitting at the train's gate were injured.

Casualties and Injuries

One passenger tragically died on the spot due to injuries sustained from the falling overhead wire. Two other passengers, seriously injured, were transported to the hospital. The injured passengers have been identified as Rahul Kumar and Ram Shankar, the latter being identified through his Aadhar card and voter ID card. Ram Shankar is 40 years old.
