Speculations rise as BJP prepares to select a new Chief Minister for Odisha after the formation of the NDA government at the center. Senior MP Dharmendra Pradhan’s appointment as a central minister has shifted focus to potential candidates like Suresh Pujari.

After the formation of the NDA government at the center, now everyone's eyes are on Odisha. Today, there will be a meeting of the BJP Legislature Party to select the new Chief Minister of Odisha, the next day the new government will take oath. The question in everyone's mind is that who will the BJP make the CM of the state now, this is because the senior MP of the state Dharmendra Pradhan has been appointed a minister in the central government. After this, the possibility of him becoming the next Chief Minister of the state seems bleak. Now everyone's eyes are on Suresh Pujari, MLA from Brajrajnagar area, who returned from Delhi on Monday.

Leaders in the Race for the CM Post

BJP's Odisha in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar has informed that the party's legislative party meeting will be held on Tuesday and the new government will take oath on June 12. Newly elected MLA Suresh Pujari returned from New Delhi on Monday and spoke to the media. He said that senior leaders led by newly appointed observers Rajnath Singh and Bhupendra Yadav are going to discuss the name of the CM with the MLAs. Let us mention here that apart from Suresh Pujari, state BJP president Manmohan Samal, K.V. Singh and Mohan Majhi are also in the race for the post of Chief Minister.

BJP’s Surprise Move in Odisha

Let us tell you that BJP has won a majority by winning 78 seats in the 147-member Odisha Assembly and is moving towards forming the government. However, BJP has not yet selected its leader who will take over the reins of the state. However, a senior leader had said recently that the BJP leadership can surprise people, as it did in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

Narendra Modi’s Roadshow Likely

The BJP has proposed to organize a roadshow of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Odisha capital before the swearing-in ceremony on June 12. It is noteworthy that the BJP has also won 20 out of the 21 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
