Monsoon rains cause waterlogging and roof collapse at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal-1. Six injured as rescue operations continue.

With the arrival of monsoon in the capital Delhi, the weather has become pleasant. However, the troubles for the people have also increased. Due to the rain since late night, there is a situation of waterlogging on the roads of Delhi. Due to strong wind and rain, a part of the roof and a pole of Terminal-1 at Indira Gandhi Airport fell. The vehicles parked below were crushed in this accident. So far, six people are reported to be injured in this accident, while the rescue is ongoing.

What is the whole matter?

According to the information given by the fire brigade officials, at 5:30 am they received information about the collapse of a part of the roof of Terminal-1 at Indira Gandhi Airport. As soon as the information of the incident was received, three fire brigade vehicles reached the site and started the rescue operation. So far, six people injured in this accident have been evacuated and admitted to the hospital for treatment. The rescue operation is still ongoing.

Aviation Minister's Statement

After this incident, Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu posted on the social media platform 'X'. He said that he is personally monitoring the incident. Appropriate instructions have been given to the officials to ensure that the passengers present at Terminal-1 do not face any problems. The injured have been taken to the hospital, and the rescue work is ongoing.
