BJP’s National President, JP Nadda, announced the appointments of state in-charges and co-in-charges for various states, including Jharkhand. The notification, signed by the party’s National General Secretary and Headquarters in-charge Arun Singh, was issued recently.
In-Charge and Co-In-Charge of Jharkhand Assembly Elections Appointed
The BJP has intensified its preparations for the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections. Alongside appointing Laxmikant Bajpai as Jharkhand in-charge, the party has also designated Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan as the in-charge of the assembly elections in the state. Additionally, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been appointed as the co-in-charge. Both leaders are actively involved in the election preparations and are frequently visiting Jharkhand. Notably, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan is on a tour of Jharkhand today, Friday.

Who is Laxmikant Bajpai?
Laxmikant Bajpai, a seasoned politician and a key figure in the BJP, has once again been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the party’s efforts in Jharkhand. Born on July 20, 1951, in Meerut, Bajpai has a long history with the BJP. His political journey began in 1977 when he was appointed the president of the youth wing, BJP Yuva Morcha. From 1980 to 1987, he served as the general secretary of Meerut district, and from 1984 to 1986, he held the position of vice-president of the BJP Yuva Morcha in Uttar Pradesh (UP).
Bajpai’s political career includes being elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Meerut four times.
