In a significant development in the NEET question paper leak case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday arrested a youth named Bunty Sharma, also known as Bunty Singh, from Dhanbad. Bunty Sharma, who was detained from Jharia in Dhanbad, is a resident of Jehanabad district in Bihar. According to sources, CBI officials took Bunty Sharma into custody and transported him to Patna. He is expected to be produced in the special CBI court on Saturday. However, no official confirmation has been made by the CBI yet. This marks the second arrest by the CBI from Dhanbad in connection with the NEET case.

Aman Singh Arrested Two Days Ago

Two days prior to this arrest, the CBI had apprehended Aman Singh, a resident of Saraidhela Bapu Nagar in Dhanbad. Aman Singh is currently being interrogated by the CBI in Patna after being taken on remand. CBI sources have indicated that the facts uncovered so far in the question paper leak case are being verified through interrogation of the accused. Additionally, the CBI is gathering information about their potential involvement in other examinations held previously.

Information about Bunty’s Absconding on Wednesday

The CBI team has been stationed in Dhanbad since Wednesday. On that day, the CBI team conducted raids at both Aman Singh’s house and Bunty Singh alias Bunty Sharma’s residence in Govindpur, but Bunty managed to escape. Subsequently, the CBI team seized one of his XUV vehicles. Since then, the team had been actively searching for him. Sources revealed that on Thursday night, the team took Bunty into custody from an individual’s house in Jharia.

Report Submitted to Supreme Court

The Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police has submitted its investigation report to the Supreme Court on Friday. The NEET case is scheduled to be heard in the Supreme Court on Monday. During an earlier hearing, the Supreme Court had instructed the EOU to submit the investigation report. EOU ADG Nayyar Hasnain Khan departed for the Supreme Court on Thursday with the investigation report. Prior to the commencement of the CBI investigation, the Bihar government had entrusted the EOU with the investigation of the NEET question paper leak case. The EOU had made several arrests while conducting its investigation.

The arrest of Bunty Sharma signifies a crucial step in the ongoing investigation of the NEET question paper leak case.
