Immediate Action Following the Examination
The JSSC conducted the CGL exam on January 28, 2024, at 735 centers across the state. On the same day, the commission received information about the paper leak through email. Formation of SIT and Initial Arrests
Following the FIR, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed under the leadership of DSP Amar Pandey to probe the case. During the investigation, the police arrested seven individuals, including the mastermind of the entire operation, Sajjad Imam alias Mo Shamim, who is the Under Secretary of the Jharkhand Assembly, and his two sons, Shahnawaz Hasan and Shahzada Imam. By June, the police had filed a charge sheet against nine people involved in the case.
