The Jharkhand government successfully rescued 27 workers stranded in Cameroon, paying their dues and providing financial assistance upon their return.

The Jharkhand government has successfully intervened to rescue 27 workers from the state who were stranded in Cameroon. Upon learning about their plight, the state government took swift action to ensure their safe return. A total outstanding amount of approximately ?30 lakh was paid on behalf of these workers, facilitating their journey back home.

In a heartfelt ceremony held in Giridih today, Chief Minister Hemant Soren, along with fellow ministers, MLAs from Giridih and Gandey, and other officials, extended a warm welcome to the returning workers. As a gesture of support and goodwill, each of the 27 laborers received ?25,000 in financial assistance.

Government’s Commitment to Workers’ Welfare

During the ceremony, Chief Minister Hemant Soren emphasized the government’s dedication to the welfare of all workers. He urged the workers to stay in constant contact with the state government to ensure their safety and well-being. “Your Jharkhand government, your brother and son, stands with sensitivity for the help of all classes. I hope you all stay prosperous,” he said.

Swift and Compassionate Action

The plight of the workers came to the government’s attention through various channels, prompting immediate action. The total amount of ?30 lakh was paid to cover the outstanding dues, ensuring that no further obstacles would prevent the workers from returning home. The state government coordinated with various agencies to facilitate their safe passage back to Jharkhand.
