The Mumbai Police has registered a case against Asit Kumar Modi, the producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
The famous TV show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' has been in limelight for quite some time now. While the show has always been in news for its inspirational thoughts and raising social issues, it has been in limelight for the past several days due to the ongoing feud between Asit Kumar Modi and Jennifer Mistry. After the allegations of physical abuse made by Jennifer, now the trouble of producer Asit Kumar Modi has increased. Actually, a police case has been registered against him on the basis of the complaint of an artist of the show.
Mumbai Police has registered a case against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Modi and operations head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj based on a complaint by one of the show's actors. Powai Police has registered an FIR against Asit Kumar Modi under sections 354 and 509 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). However, the police have not arrested anyone so far.
The Powai police recorded the statement of the actress in connection with her sexual harassment allegations against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Kumar Modi and two other crew members. Police will soon issue summons to Asit Kumar Modi to record his statement. However, Asit Modi, Sohail and Jatin have denied the allegations. Asit Modi said in a statement, 'We will take legal action as she is trying to defame both me and the show. Because we have fired her, so she is making baseless allegations.
Popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actress Jennifer Mistry had quit the show sometime back. After exiting the show after 15 years, she made serious allegations of mental and sexual harassment against the show's producer Asit Kumar Modi. She filed a complaint against producer Modi, project head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj for alleged sexual harassment at the workplace.
