After the men in the Australian Open 2023, a phase of upheaval has also begun in the women's singles. World number one female tennis player Inga Swiatek has been out of the Australian Open. She lost to Elena Rybakina 4-6, 4-6 in the women's singles fourth round on Sunday. Ryabkina has caused a big upset by defeating the number one player in the women's singles event. Swiatek was also the top seeded female player in this tournament. Reigning Wimbledon champion Rybanika has made a strong case for winning her title by qualifying for the quarter-finals.

Earlier in this tournament, top seed Rafael Nadal and second seed Casper Ruud were eliminated in the men's singles. Apart from these two, Andy Murray and Daniil Medvedev are also out of this tournament. 

Kazakhstan's Rybnika played brilliantly in the match that lasted one hour and 29 minutes and put Swiatek out of the tournament and presented a strong claim to win her title. The Kazakhstan player, who won the US Open last year, said it was a really tough match.

Rybakina will face Jelena Ostapenko in the quarterfinals. Swiatek raced to a 40–0 lead in her opening service game and went 15–40 on Rybakina in the next game. After this he did not look back and won the match.
