The CBI has arrested three people of the railway in the Balasore train accident case.

The CBI has arrested three people of the railway in the Balasore train accident case. This includes the names of Senior Section Engineer Arun Kumar Mohanta, Section Engineer Mohammad Amir Khan and Technician Pappu Kumar. The CBI has arrested them under sections 304 and 201 of the CrPC.

In this case, Section 201 has also been added by the CBI, under which disappearance of evidence of crime or giving false information has been done. It is a case of IPC 304 i.e. culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

On June 2, over 290 people were killed in a horrific accident when three trains collided with each other in Balasore district. The Coromandel Express entered the passing loop instead of the main line near Bahanaga Bazar railway station and rammed into a stationary goods train. After this, the Bengaluru-Howrah Express also collided with overturned coaches.
