Traders say that every year from August 15, 200 to 250 crore tricolors are sold. But this year their sales can reach Rs 500 to 600 crores. Traders associated with South Gujarat Textile Processors Association told Amarujala that Surat traders have received orders for 10 crore flags. Earlier the tricolor was made of khadi and second cloth only. But now changing the Indian Flag Code, the government has approved making flags from polyester and machines as well. In view of this, many traders have also started the work of making tricolor for the first time. The orders that these traders have received, most of these flags have been given by the central government and some orders have also been given by the state government. Here the flag traders of Delhi have also got bigger business this year than last year. Around 4 to 5 crore flags are expected to be sold here. Whereas only 40 to 50 lakh flags were sold on the first Independence Day. Vivek Jain, a wholesaler of flags in Sadar Bazar, says in a conversation with Amar Ujala that this time the order to make 10 lakh tricolors has been received by small traders. This is the first time that so many orders have been received by small traders. Half of these orders have been received from the central government and half from private companies. Not only this, factory owners of industrial areas are also buying tricolor for their employees this time. The company's poly cotton 20x30 inch tricolor flag costs Rs 22 to 23.
Sales increased 50 times, 25 lakh flags are being made every day
Meanwhile, it has become difficult for flag makers in Delhi to meet the demand. The situation is that it has become difficult for the traders and manufacturers to meet the huge demand of the national flag. Traders have claimed that the sale of all types of tricolor has increased 50 times since the campaign was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 22. However, there is always a demand for a medium-sized national flag. Traders are preparing about 25 lakh flags every day. But the demand is even higher. Orders are coming from all over India. Because there is a shortage of flags in the states of the country. So from where people can get. Getting flags from there.
