Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is in trouble for allotting illegal mining leases. His assembly membership is under threat. With the Election Commission sending its opinion in this regard to the Governor, the political stir in Jharkhand has increased.

The recommendation of the commission reached the Raj Bhavan on Thursday. However, that has not barred Soren from contesting for re-election. Governor Ramesh Bais can take a decision on Friday based on the recommendation. When asked, he said that he was in Delhi AIIMS for two days for treatment and returned to Ranchi only on Thursday. The commission had completed the hearing on August 22. CM Soren has denied any information. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey said, Journalists told that Soren has lost his membership. BJP itself had complained, so it is a happy moment. 

Jharkhand Congress MLA Purnima Neeraj Singh said, "We (Jharkhand Congress MLAs) have directed all MLAs to remain available in Ranchi keeping in view the recent political developments and speculations in Jharkhand. We (UPA MLAs) today Another meeting has been called at the Chief Minister's residence at 11 am. At the same time, State Congress President Rajesh Thakur has said that Congress is with JMM in any situation. The Grand Alliance will not break in any case. Congress's support will continue.

Against Hemant, the BJP had complained to the Governor for violation of Section 9A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. According to this, if a public representative is involved in business or business with the government, he can be disqualified. Soren had obtained a mining lease in his name when he was the CM. He also held the Mining Ministry. However, the lease was canceled following a complaint to the commission.

Amidst reports of cancellation of the legislative assembly, CM Hemant Soren, indirectly targeting the Center, tweeted on Thursday evening, "To buy constitutional institutions, how will you be able to buy public support? This affection of thousands of our hardworking policemen of Jharkhand and here. People's support is my strength. We are ready! Jai Jharkhand!"

In fact, in his cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the Chief Minister had decided to give one month additional basic salary to the policemen of the state. After that the policemen gathered in large numbers outside the CM residence and celebrated.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha General Secretary and Chief Spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya, while referring to the Election Commission's decision in the office of profit case of CM Hemant Soren, said, "No decision is final. There are other options open to us as well.” Responding to a question, Bhattacharya bluntly said that no decision of the Election Commission has come to us so far and we have the option of going in appeal. The Chief Minister's Office clarified that at present, they have not received any official information from the Raj Bhavan regarding the membership of the Chief Minister's Assembly.

It is not easy for Hemant to decide the option. Father Shibu Soren has been unwell for a long time. Brother Basant Soren is also under investigation. The wife cannot contest the by-election from a reserved seat as she is not a resident of Jharkhand. The question is, will Hemant bet on his confidante Champai Soren or Joba Manjhi? However, this threatens to end the Soren family's control over the JMM.

JMM said- Supreme Court will go on disqualification of Soren

The JMM on Thursday said it will approach the Supreme Court if Chief Minister Hemant Soren is disqualified as an MLA. However, the party also said that there is no threat to the government as it has an absolute majority in the assembly. However, amidst the rapidly changing political scenario, the Chief Minister's wife Kalpana Soren has suddenly come into the limelight. It has been said that in case Soren is prevented from contesting elections, he may be given responsibility. Raj Bhavan sources said the Election Commission is believed to have told Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais that Soren has violated election norms by giving himself a mining lease and should be disqualified as an MLA for the same.
