Counseling for 1.87 Lakh Teachers in Bihar Starts August 1

The counseling process for 1.87 lakh appointed teachers who have passed the first proficiency test to become specialized teachers will commence on August 1 from 9 AM. The Bihar Education Department held an extensive discussion with all Establishment DPOs and District Education Officers on Tuesday regarding the online process for the counseling. Additionally, necessary guidelines for the counseling process have been issued. The top officials from the Education Department headquarters also participated in this video conferencing session.

Counseling at DRCC Centers

The counseling process and its technical aspects were discussed with technical experts by ACS Dr. S. Siddhartha. He has been continuously issuing directives to make the counseling process foolproof. According to official information, all recommended teachers will have their counseling at the DRCC in their allotted districts. Information about when each candidate needs to appear for counseling will be sent to their registered mobile numbers on July 31. This information will also be available on the official website of the Education Department and might be released as early as Tuesday-Wednesday midnight.

Online Attendance for Counseling

According to sources, the online attendance of candidates appearing for counseling will be taken. As soon as they appear for counseling, the officials or employees stationed there will enter the candidate’s specific code into the software. This will bring up all the relevant information about the candidate. Upon clicking on attendance, an OTP will be sent to the official’s mobile, which will be used to verify the candidate’s identity and allow them to proceed with the counseling. If a candidate arrives after the scheduled time, the software will automatically not accept their attendance. Each slot will accommodate the counseling of thirty candidates at one counter, though the department can make necessary changes.

Aadhaar and Biometric Verification

At the main gate, Aadhaar and biometric verification of the candidates will be conducted for verification purposes. Only after this verification will the counseling process proceed. Most of the counseling process will be carried out through the software.
