United Nations General Assembly President Csaba Korosi will be on an official visit to India from 29 to 31 January.

United Nations General Assembly President Csaba Korosi will be on an official visit to India from 29 to 31 January. He will hold key meetings on the priorities of the UN General Assembly.

Will meet External Affairs Minister 

During the visit, UNGA President will meet External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in New Delhi. During this, Korosi will discuss the issues raised during their last meeting in December. Korosi will visit India's G-20 Secretariat. The visit will include interactions with government officials, leading national scientists and academics, and field visits related to sustainable water use. Korosi will deliver a public speech at the Indian Council of World Affairs on the subject of his priorities during the General Assembly session in New Delhi.

Will visit the water project site 

The primary goal of the visit is to build links between the General Assembly and science, especially on the issue of water, ahead of the UN-Water Conference in March. Will discuss India's water conservation projects with senior officials and experts from National Institute for Transforming India, otherwise known as NITI Aayog. Korosi will visit a water project site during the field visit in Bengaluru. He will also interact with national scientists and academicians at the Indian Institute of Science. The President will also meet the United Nations Resident Coordinator in India, Shomby Sharp. Specifically, travel costs are covered by the government and the OPGA Trust Fund. After the India tour, Korosi will travel to China, where he will visit the International Research Center for Big Data for the Sustainable Development Goals, Which facilitates the implementation of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Apart from this, the UNGA President in China will also meet senior government officials of the country.
