Pakistan's Climate Energy Minister Sherry Rehman said on Wednesday that Cyclone Biporjoy will hit Sindh's Keti Bandar at 11 am (local time) on Thursday. Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, Sherry Rehman talked about the cyclonic storm expected to hit Sindh on Thursday. Pakistan's Climate Minister said that Thatta, Sujawal, Badin and Tharparkar districts will be most affected by the cyclone. He further said that Biparjoy is going away from Karachi. He said the cyclone has forced the authorities to suspend small aircraft operations in Pakistan.
Sherry Rehman said that commercial flight operations would remain suspended as the cyclone approached Pakistan.
What did Pakistan Meteorology say ?
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) in its latest update said that Cyclone Biparjoy over Northeast Arabian Sea has moved nearly northeastwards in the past six hours.
The PMD said Cyclone Biparjoy is now about 310 km south of Karachi, 300 km south-southwest of Thatta and 240 km south-southwest of KT Bunder near 22.1°N latitude and 66.9°E longitude. situated at.
