A drone attacked a merchant ship about 217 nautical miles off the Porbandar coast of Gujarat. The Coast Guard said that its Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) in Mumbai was the first to receive information about the attack. As soon as the information was received, the Navy's P-8I long-range aircraft ensured the safety of the crew of Chem Pluto.

Now this ship will travel till Mumbai under the protection of Coast Guard's Dornier aircraft. The aircraft also established communication with Chem Pluto. Coastguard officials say there is hope that the ship may reach Mumbai. Along with this, the crew has sought escort assistance due to steering related problems. At the same time, India's Vikram ship will now protect Chem Pluto all the way. The Coast Guard Center is closely monitoring the situation. At the same time, the Indian Navy has also sent a warship for security.
