The central government will sell Bharat brand flour at cheaper rates from Monday in view of the festive season. The price of flour will be Rs 27.50 per kg. It will be started by
Union Minister Piyush Goyal. The government has reduced the price of flour available at Rs 29.50 per kg by Rs 2. Currently, loose flour is available at Rs 35 and branded flour at Rs 40 to 55 per kg. The government will sell cheap flour in 10 and 30 kg packing through successful outlets of NAFED, NCCF, Kendriya Bhandar and Mother Dairy. India has allocated 2.5 lakh tonnes of wheat from the central quota. The aim of the government is to control retail prices.
Onion and pulses also available at cheap rates
The government is already providing onion to consumers at Rs 25 per kg and Bharat Dal at Rs 60 per kg. The prices of sugar and other essential food items are being monitored.
