A Berlin court has refused to hand over the custody of 27-month-old
Indian baby girl Ariha Shah to her parents. The court has directed the girl to be placed under the care of the
Germany Youth Welfare Office. Please tell that since September 2021, Ariha is in the custody of the German government. The matter was heard by the German court on Friday. During this, Ariha's parents argued that the girl got hurt accidentally but the court refused to accept these arguments.
Court said this
According to media reports, in view of the safety of the girl, the court instead of giving her custody to her parents gave it to the
Germany Youth Welfare Office. The court said that it is of the opinion that the parents intentionally caused injury to the child and could not give a satisfactory answer as to the cause of the injury.
The court said that Ariha had suffered head and back injuries in April 2021. At the same time, in September 2021, the girl's private parts were also injured. The relatives claimed that the girl got hurt while taking a bath but the court refused to accept it.
Government of India is also helping
The Government of
India is also helping to bring Ariha back to her parents. On June 2,
Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi issued a statement saying that keeping the girl child in German foster care was a violation of her social, cultural and linguistic rights. The Government of
India and his parents are extremely worried about this. 59 MPs from 19 political parties of
India have also written a letter to Dr. Philipp Ackermann, Ambassador of
Germany to
India and appealed to give custody of Ariha to her
Indian parents.
At the same time, after the court's decision, Ariha's parents expressed faith in the Government of
India and said that PM Modi and Foreign Minister S Jaishankar would bring their girl back to
India. He said that from today he has handed over Ariha to 140 crore
Indians.
