Haryana CM Announces Age Relaxation and Reservation for Agniveers

In a significant policy announcement, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has declared substantial benefits for Agniveers, including age relaxation for government jobs and horizontal reservations. The state government aims to support the transition of Agniveers into civilian employment, ensuring they have ample opportunities in both public and private sectors.
Age Relaxation for Government Posts
CM Nayab Singh Saini stated, “We will provide these Agniveers a relaxation of 3 years in the maximum age prescribed for government posts in Group B and C. In the case of the first batch of Agniveers, this age relaxation will be 5 years.” This policy aims to make it easier for Agniveers to apply for and secure government jobs, acknowledging their service and dedication.
Horizontal Reservation for Agniveers
The Haryana government has also decided to implement horizontal reservations for Agniveers in direct recruitment to civil posts. “The government will provide 5% horizontal reservation for Agniveers in direct recruitment to civil posts in Group C and 1% horizontal reservation in Group B,” said CM Saini. This move is expected to significantly improve the employment prospects for Agniveers in the public sector.
Industrial Employment Subsidy
To encourage industrial units to employ Agniveers, the Haryana government is offering a substantial subsidy. CM Saini announced, “If Agniveer is given a salary of more than Rs 30,000 per month by any industrial unit, then our government will give a subsidy of Rs 60,000 per annum to that industrial unit.” This initiative aims to incentivize private sector employment of Agniveers, ensuring they receive competitive salaries and stable jobs.
