Apart from Ajay Devgan's superhit films 'Dilwale' and 'Diljale', actor Karan Razdan, who wrote films like 'Trimurti', 'Dushmani' and 'Lakshman Rekha', appeared on the small screen as a director in 'Rajni', 'Tehkikat' and 'Mr. Bhatti has directed many popular serials like 'Holiday'. As a director, he is now coming up with a film whose name itself is 'Hindutva'. Karan Razdan has released the poster of his film amidst allegations that Hindutva and Hinduism are often portrayed in a negative light in Hindi cinema. Karan's film is going to compete with Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandanna's film 'Good Bye' at the box office, apart from Rajkumar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's film 'Mr and Mrs Mahi'.
Karan Razdan, who garnered much applause as the main villain in Mithun Chakraborty's film 'Disco Dancer', has had a varied career. Apart from being an actor, he also tried his hand at writing and directing. Now along with the release date of his directorial film 'Hindutva', its poster will also be released. The film is going to release on 7th October. The film stars Ashish Sharma, Sonarika Bhadauria and Ankit Raj in lead roles.
Director Karan Razdan is also the producer and writer of this film. He says, "My film 'Hindutva' is about love, friendship, student politics and the real essence of Hindutva. The film will reveal some such details about Hinduism, which even some Hindus in the country do not know. There has been a lot of discussion in political circles that there is a big difference between Hinduism and Hindutva. Where Hinduism is perceived as a peaceful lifestyle, while Hindutva is being described as fundamentalist and extremist and Hindus following Hindutva are being portrayed as fundamentalists.
According to Karan Razdan, 'People do not understand that Hinduism translated in Hindi literally means Hindutva. It does not mean Hinduism, because Hinduism is not a religion. So what is its literal translation, this is Hindutva. My film Hindutva actually goes ten steps ahead and tells these so called secular people what does Hindutva really mean?'
Karan Razdan says, “A lot of Hindus are being cursed by
Bollywood, be it us people or our gods and goddesses, all have been shown by
Bollywood either in a negative or in a ridiculous way. Both are unacceptable to me and that's how my film 'Hindutva' was born. Whether it is in
India or all over the world, a wrong meaning and message of Hindutva is being spread, I want to say this directly.
