The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on Wednesday got two trainee hostels, which are fully equipped with central air-conditioning systems.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on Wednesday got two trainee hostels, which are fully equipped with central air-conditioning systems. A total of 800 trainees can be accommodated in these two hostels located at Berawas village of Ramgarh, 25 km from Alwar city of Rajasthan.

Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai on Wednesday inaugurated these two hostels along with 83 family residences at ITBP's Central Training College (CTC) in Alwar. According to ITBP, these buildings are for the use of trainees of the institute and personnel of the force and their families.

Further, ITBP said that with the construction of these houses, 100% accommodation has now been provided to the jawans and their families posted at ITBP Central Training College, ITBP, so that officers of all ranks posted in the campus along with their families will be able to stay in the camp premises.

The Ministry of Home Affairs approved in 2012

ITBP said that what is special about these hostels is that they are the first hostels in any Central Armed Police Force to have fully central air conditioning system. The CTC was conceptualized due to the need for recruitment and training of the ITBP force. The Ministry of Home Affairs had given approval in 2012 to set up this center in Alwar.

Initially, the institute was started from Ramgarh Panchkula, Haryana due to non-availability of necessary infrastructure for training. In 2013, the foundation stone of the CTC was laid at the present site, Beravas. The Rajasthan government had provided 300 acres of land to ITBP for this. It started operations from this site on 16 December 2014 after being shifted from Panchkula in Haryana.

ITBP said that since 2015 till date, this center has trained around 15,000 officers in various cadres.
