Inspection of coaching centers in Patna led by SDO Gunjan Singh reveals multiple violations. Action to be taken against unregistered and non-compliant institutes.

In a bid to ensure safety and compliance, Patna district administration, under the leadership of SDO Gunjan Singh, conducted an inspection of coaching centers in the city. This action comes in the wake of the tragic incident at a coaching center in Delhi, prompting similar evaluations nationwide.

Inspection Details

On Tuesday, the district administration began a large-scale inspection of coaching centers in Patna. The team, led by SDO Gunjan Singh, inspected the Khan Global Center located in Mussallahpur Haat. The inspection revealed several discrepancies and violations of safety standards.

Violations Found

During the inspection, it was discovered that the coaching center had not registered with the district education office. Additionally, the center was found to be overcrowded, with more students than its capacity allows. The gaps between benches were also insufficient, posing a safety risk.

Further violations included non-compliance with building bylaws. The staircases were found to be too narrow, and the building had more floors than the standards permit. The district administration has instructed the center’s operator, Khan Sir, to submit the necessary registration documents promptly.

SDO’s Statement

SDO Gunjan Singh stated, “Several deficiencies have been identified in the coaching institute. We have given them time to submit the required documents. Failure to comply will result in strict action under the Bihar Coaching Act and building bylaws.”

The inspection team will continue to evaluate other coaching centers in the district over the next 15 days, compiling a comprehensive report for the District Magistrate.

Current Registration Status

The inspection revealed that only 413 coaching institutes in the district are registered. Out of these, 138 do not meet the required standards. In the past eight months, 1011 coaching institutes have applied for registration with the district education office, and their applications are currently under review.

District Education Officer’s Comments

District Education Officer Sanjay Kumar emphasized the importance of registration for all coaching institutes, stating, “Registration is mandatory for all coaching centers. Those that fail to register or meet the required standards will be shut down. If unregistered centers continue to operate, FIRs will be lodged against them.”

Future Actions

The district administration’s ongoing inspections aim to ensure that all coaching centers comply with safety and operational standards. This initiative is crucial in preventing incidents similar to the tragic one in Delhi and ensuring the safety of students attending these institutions.

The community and parents have welcomed this move, hoping it will lead to safer learning environments for their children. The administration’s strict stance on compliance highlights the importance of adhering to regulations designed to protect students.

The inspection of coaching centers in Patna led by SDO Gunjan Singh has uncovered significant violations. The district administration’s proactive approach aims to enforce compliance and ensure student safety. As the inspections continue, it is imperative for coaching centers to adhere to the regulations and contribute to a secure educational environment.
