Landslides in Uttarakhand: Rescue Operations Underway to Save Stranded Pilgrims

The sudden downpour caused the Mandakini River to swell, prompting many pilgrims to flee towards the forests to save their lives.
Rescue Efforts by NDRF, SDRF, and Security Forces
Following the heavy rains and resulting landslides, thousands of people were trapped in different locations. In response, the state government has been working tirelessly for the past four days to rescue the stranded pilgrims through a coordinated effort involving the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), police, and the disaster management department, comprising a team of 882 members. Additionally, three days ago, the central government provided seven helicopters, including Chinook and MI-17, to aid in the rescue operations.
